IRQB at the 6th Railway Forum Berlin

From 1 to 2 October, The International Rail Quality Board (IRQB) was delighted to participate in the 6th Railway Forum in Berlin, Germany. The 6th Railway Forum is the annual supply chain conference for the railway industry supported by Competence Partner Deutsche Bahn AG. With over 100 speakers in the conference, 140 companies in the exhibition and 1,406 participants from 31 countries, the forum was unquestionably a great success.

During the speaker’s corner session titled, “IRQB strengthens IRIS Certification®” Bernard Kaufmann, IRQB Coordinator, welcomed the participants and introduced the topic to the guests . Stefan Siegler, IRQB Chairman, took the floor to highlight the mission of IRQB, namely to further promote the IRIS Certification® system and improve its recognition. The discussion continued with Andreas Becker, CEO Ephy-Mess, and Ronald Seidelman, Managing Director Gutehoffnungshütte Radsatz GmbH, highlighting their experience when implementing IRIS in their respective companies as well as the challenges and opportunities for improvement of their own business management system through robust processes and a good performance management system.
During his keynote presentation on ‘Quality Management & Certification:
How IRIS Certification® helps Rail Customers’, Stefan Siegler, IRQB Chairman and VP Business Excellence and Quality in Siemens Mobility GmbH, introduced IRQB as a worldwide consortium to drive Quality in the rail sector and further promote the IRIS Certification® system. He stated that in IRQB’s vision, better Quality will ultimately improve daily mobility on rail. Therefore IRIS Certification® must be the seal of all involved stakeholders.
During the two-days conference guests came to the IRQB stand to meet the team and get answers to their questions.
